The Nature of the Gunfight
If you are running for political office, and you do not understand the underlying intellectual gunfight, then you are going to be incapable of choosing a side and helping to resolve the problem between state-centric forced collectivism and individual liberty. Several names you need to know are Karl Marx and Sir Maynard Keynes, representing the Marxist state-centric forced collectivism side of the gunfight, and Ludwig von Mises, Nobel Laureate F. A. Hayek, Murray N. Rothbard and Milton Friedman, who represent the individual liberty side of the equation.
If you don't have at least one book by each of these individuals in your library, please do not think you have a positive contribution to make to any political endeavor. You will do more damage than a blind surgeon.

Gene's reply: No. I don't foresee that in the near future. I'm nine classes from my bachelor's degree in Economics, and a politician's job is to balance economic interests. I'd probably even want to get some post graduate work in economics done before I considered that run.
I think my run for Texas Governor made clear that a split has been forced upon libertarianism by the state's requirement to swear or affirm allegiance to man's laws in opposition to Tolstoy's position in "The Kingdom Of God Is Within You." I can better teach through the library approach, I can see.

R. Lee Wrights Has Been A Visionary
R. Lee Wrights has probably accomplished more for libertarianism than any other single candidate running on the Libertarian ticket in the past several years. Obviously, I'd like to see any LP candiate have the word, "Economics," present in their educational background; however, his work in building a website that allows others to promote that essential element in a liberty-centric society is most noteworthy.
The only criticism I've been able to find in him is that he is operating on the assumption that the state will continue to exist after his election as Texas Governor, and everyone knows that that is not a serious criticism.
His computer operations are doing a wonderful job, I understand, of bringing in new eyes to libertarianism, and this is the kind of building that the Libertarian Party needs in the short term.
My litmus test for any candiate is about liberty, a comparison of their positions to the 10 planks of "The Communist Manifesto" and "The Eight Dynamics of Slavery," and R. Lee Wrights is the only candidate who passes all eighteen points with flying colors that I've seen anywhere on earth.

How to End the IRS/ Person Income Tax?
Well, I've been at this "end the IRS" business for going on eleven years in a public way. Irwin Schiff isn't actually out to end the IRS but to end the application of the personal income tax (2nd plank of "The Communist Manifesto") on individuals, and I'm good with that.
I've worked with Rick Stanley's "Mutual Defense Pact" to negotiate positive ends, but that is so very risky to human life all around, and the Fed's like it for training, if nothing else.
I've made every attempt to teach Greek terms (i. e. andrapodistes) to charge up the troops and teach books on slavery (i. e. "The Slavery Of Our Times," by Leo Tolstoy).
I ran for President of the United States and then Governor of Texas, and it's like herding cats.
Now, I'm pushing the library approach, but everybody wants to sit in the comfort of their house and be dumbed down by computer learning. I know how Ron Paul must feel to spend a life trying to teach and lead the unteachable and unleadable. You're trying to build an army, and all you get is a bunch looking for a weenie roast.
But what else can a revolutionary do? Can I throw my conscience away?
All I know to do at this point is to put serious books into the hands of politicians to weaken their assumptions that their taxes have any standing in moral law. I just hope they read the books. They do have an uncanny way of resigning from politics right after I propose they do just that: Dick Armey, Rick Perry, Tom Pauken, Ben Bernanke.

Library Devolpment
I am seeing a path for the Libertarian Global Library and Book Exchange to develop, as I interact with several Libertarian groups in Houston. If we can get ten grown ups in a metropolitan area to put together $100 a month each for the library, then we can coordinate rent on a nice but humble space and payment of heat and air conditioning, along with maintenance of a 100 book library in each location. We could seek to have each library location near a university or even law school, as law schools turn out the people who generally end up ruling over us in government.
We would give out keys to all the major players, so each group and donor would have access to the library for liberty-centric events and study. We would need a volunteer general manager to supervise the overall activities, so the a/c doesn't get left on forever and groups are sure to not be dominated by a single personality.
We want this to be a free area of study for students and even scholars who may not know about Rothbard or the Austrian School of Economics, etc.

It is the first conviction of a gay man in Nigeria since President Goodluck Jonathan signed a bill that criminalizes homosexuality.
BAUCHI, Nigeria — A young man convicted of sodomy was whipped 20 times Thursday in a northern Nigerian Shariah court.
Though Mubarak Ibrahim was found guilty under Shariah law, it is the first conviction of a gay man in Nigeria since President Goodluck Jonathan signed a bill that further criminalizes homosexuality under the West African nation's Western-style penal code.
Activists believe the new law has whipped up homophobia and endangers gay people in a country where lynchings and mob justice are common.
But the Muslim Rights Concern group on Thursday said it was "the other way round as the practice of homosexualism and lesbianism is most capable of instigating widespread hatred and turning society upside down."
It praised Jonathan for resisting pressures from Western powers that have condemned the law and urged them to stop what it called meddling in Nigerian internal affairs. "Most reprehensible is the attempt by foreign powers to intimidate and coerce Nigeria into absorbing their despicable culture by threatening to withhold foreign aid," it said.

In the city of Bauchi, 28-year-old Ibrahim, an unemployed artisan, pleaded guilty to committing one act of sodomy seven years ago. He said he was misled into the act by the principal of the high school he was attending and has not committed a homosexual act since.
Judge Nuhu Mohammed said he would spare Ibrahim the sentence of death by stoning because the crime occurred so many years ago and because the young man had shown "great remorse."
The 20 lashes were administered in the public court. Ibrahim also was ordered to pay a fine of 5,000 naira ($30). It was not immediately clear if he had been able to pay and go free.
He was among 12 men — 11 Muslims and one Christian — who have been arrested by police since Christmas for belonging to a gay club.
Dorothy Aken'Ova, a human rights activist whose organization is helping with lawyers, said police had lured four of the men, then tortured them into providing a list of 168 wanted gay men.
Shariah Commission chairman Mustapha Baba Ilela has denied any of those arrested were tortured. He told The Associated Press that police were hunting for other members of a gay club, but would not say how many.
The Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act that Jonathan signed on Jan. 7 brought widespread condemnation from abroad — including the United States, Britain, Canada, the European Union and the United Nations.
The UNAIDS agency says the law could criminalize people in programs to fight HIV-AIDS. The U.S. says it violates the rights of all Nigerians to free speech and association.

"Libertarian Coffee Club" Brainstorming
Interacting with the real estate fellow, it will cost $750 a month to rent a store-front in a strip mall here in Lewisville, Texas. If we were to operate on a Starbucks pricing level, we would have to move just about seven cups of $4.00 tea or coffee per day in a thirty day month to cover basic rental costs, assuming we operate as a club, not as a business.

What Sets Libertarians Apart?
I've long said that Democrats are those who don't read books, Republicans are those who stopped reading at graduation from college and Libertarians are those who never stopped. If you don't know what the 10 planks of "The Communist Manifesto" or the dynamics of slavery are when you see them, how are you to be a Libertarian? Chapman Talking "Libertarian Tea Room" with Real Estate Company
Well, I'm tinkering around with an idea for a "Libertarian Tea Room," a small testing location for ideas to get people "reading the classics," as Ron Paul put it. We know that face-to-face learning with paper books in hand is preferred by sociologists for developing critical thinking (comparison and contrast).
I'm interested in a Libertarian reading room, wherein a adult person or student could walk in off the street and grasp off a shelf pro-liberty books (the classics: Locke, Tolstoy, Gandhiji, Rothbard, etc., etc., etc., etc.). There would also be a section for the anti-liberty books of Marx, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mau, Hitler, Clinton, Obama, Bush, etc., to allow a full examination of various social and political thought processes.
People could interact, with the pro-liberty position being the sponsored view of the reading room.
We might over time have a wifi set up, so people could go online. May a copy machine could fit at some point to allow students to do a full paper on site.
In the end, these Libertarian Tea Rooms would be located near university campuses to reach students. We would serve tea and coffee, with either a donor arrangement or a business model, which ever makes more economic and social sense.
I'm just getting some prices for locations in my head for a test location right now.

We are also kicking around the idea of a "Libertarian Tea Room," a small hole-in-the-wall tea and coffee house serving tea and coffee (what else?) to university students near a campus here in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area that will have to pay for itself. Whether we want to make it a profit center to help expand the Libertarian message worldwide in a kind of Star Bucks global domination effort or just self sufficient is the topic of discussion now.
3) Columbia, MO: We have a Libertarian School already running in a bi-weekly study of Mises/ Rothbardian economic ideas in Columbia, MO. This has already been going before us, but they are of the same cloth, and the studies are operated by a Ph. D. student.

Libertarian Tea Room?
I'm tinkering around with a "Libertarian Tea Room" concept to provide a reading room with coffee and tea. I'm not sure of whether to build a business around it or just leave it a donor based concept yet. As a Gandhian, I do not wish to profit from my benevolence, but it does need a steady funding stream to make it grow, I think.

I personally believe as we focus on "Truth and non-violence" (Gandhiji), a proper peaceful self governing world will present itself over time. I believe that world is somewhere between Gandhiji's libertarian socialism and Rothbard's stateless society. I believe it is somewhere between my friend Noam Chomsky's Anarco-syndicalism and Lew Rockwell's Anarco-capitialism, but I do not push one direction or another. I push for the lessening of state violence through education. I push for knowledge to wash the earth, along with my mind, clean of ignorance.

Dear Gene,
I am XXXX XXXXX, we conversed briefly on Facebook a few days ago about the Communism versus Capitalist / Democratic Society violence. I am looking through the blog you founded.
The ideas are terrific. It appears to be at the psychological level versus ideology. Some people believe that we can approach our world from the intellectual level, still others philosophically, others force majeure by whatever the existing system of government and finance there is at the time (the go along, get along life).
How do you see a world transformation to a libertarian mindset? How would you go from the "tragedy of the commons" to a more enlightened society? Is it strategy or the collision of ideas or ignorance mixed with religion(s) of all stripes?
I think at a basic level self reliance is a place to start but perhaps that is too much to ask for.
Where in the garden of ideas do you see your blog style? Who is it focused at? How did you choose your target or does the target choose you?
What is the target or solution you see that self propels a society? How do we dis-empower those who would continue to enslave us all without becoming slavers ourselves?

Ron Paul tells us to read the classics, but society's attention span is so diluted and so lost reading the crap on the Internet that I have to go out of my own pocket to buy the classics to physically put in people's hands, in the hope that they will actually read them. Thank God the classics actually work once read.

The Dynamics of Slavery and Kathie Glass

Three Libertarian Schools Going
We have three Libertarian Schools set up or in the process of being set up in Houston, TX, Ft. Worth, TX and Columbia, MO.
Houston, TX: February 22, 2014, between 2 p. m. and 4 p. m. is the expected first meeting of the two hour public reading session of libertarian books in Houston, Texas. I have room for three guests to ride down from Dallas and back with me.
Ft. Worth, TX: We plan to have the first Ft. Worth Libertarian School in days. Contact me for time and date.

Tremendous Reception for Library in Llano, Texas!!!
Gene gives a book to an appreciative Llano Tea Party member.

There were about 125 to 170 people present, with eighteen candidates, including a sitting Texas Supreme Court Judge, who I think got a book, as I remember. They snapped those free books up like they were free Elvis autographs.
Thanks to the donor who made it possible for the books to be passed out tonight. We may have just seen the seminal moments of a genuine revolution.

Chapman Withdraws from Texas Gubernatorial Race
After an email exchange with my last open door to an effort to regain placement on the candidate list, I am withdrawing my candidacy for Texas Governor and endorsing R. Lee Wrights for the Libertarian nomination for Texas Governor. I am convinced that the decision has had a full hearing and is not a Glass duo coercion from this point forward (see: TheUnethicalTomGlass.blogspot.com/ and ChapmanShredsKathieGlass.blogspot.com/).

Llano Tomorrow
My guest and I will be leaving Ft. Worth tomorrow about 12 noon for the Tea Party event in Llano, Texas. I'll be going to pass out about 15 remaining copies of "The Kingdom Of God is Within You," by Leo Tolstoy and invite readers to being Libertarian Schools: 2 hour reading sessions each month of libertarian books in a home or restaurant.
I also reached out to Ron Paul's curriculum group about getting coloring books and children's books on liberty to keep the kids learning and entertained during these Libertarian School events.

Libertarian School in Harris County Feb. 22nd
We have February 22, 2014 penciled in as the date for our first Libertarian School. It will be held in Houston, Texas from about 2 to 4 p. m. We'll have open public readings of Libertarian books from the group for the two hours, along with discussion and strategy session.
I have room in my car for three guests for the day trip from Dallas to Houston and back. I plan to leave home at 8 a. m., will eat breakfast/ lunch in Buffalo, Texas, half way to Houston and return by 11 p. m. that night back to Dallas. If anyone would like to go, you are welcome to help cover gas, if you can (about $15/ no pressure). About $20 for food should cover your meals on the low end. It's a nice day off from Dallas, if you want to go meet some Libertarians.

Behind every petty temporal law, there is a badge and a gun and a threat of death from the state.
1) Thou shalt cut thy grass to 6" on pain of death.
2) Thou shalt have a tag on the front of thy car on pain of death.
