Question for Gene:

Question:  "Why do you keep mixing religion a politics?"

Answer:  From your question, I can tell that you probably attended a so-called "free public school," as a child.  You are presenting a Marxist presupposition, based on p. 242 of "The Communist Manifesto," Penguin Classics Edition:  "But [Marxism] abolishes eternal truths;  it abolishes all religion and all morality."  The "free public school" (government indoctrination day camp for children) taught you that theistic religion is not something for the public arena.  See the 10th plank of "The Communist Manifesto":  "free public schools."

In fact, religion may be defined as "a highest truth system of thought and conduct."  By that definition, Marxism is a non-theistic religion, non-theistic like Buddhism.  So, those telling you in your so-called "free public school" that they do not like religion in the public arena are saying that they do not want religions other than their own in the public arena, thus winning every conflict before it begins.  That's how insidious Marxism is and why Kathy Glass, for example, should not be supporting the 10th plank of "The Communist Manifesto," as she is on her web site, even out of ignorance.

I fact, Politics is that arena wherein all the religions of the world do battle for prominence and survival.  The winning religion (highest truth system of thought and conduct) wins the election every time, Ceteris peribus (all things being equal).

Gandhians, like myself, go the opposite direction from Marx.  We pull from all religions, all economic systems and all philosophies, internalize what Truth we can and place the proverbial bones off to the side on a shelf.  If we later determine that some of those bones were actually meat, then we internalize them and live them.

You should never react negatively when either non-theistic or theistic religion is in the political arena;  the political arena is the Roman Coliseum of religion.

I hope this helps.
