How to Shrink the Size of Government Using the "Sermon on the Mount"

The end game of Jesus Christ's Sermon on the Mount is for his followers to "swear not," assisting along with a few other points in the creation of a stateless society driven by conscience, according to Leo Tolstoy's world renown book, The Kingdom Of God Is Within You.  Yes, Jesus Christ was an anarchist, and here is how we can use his path to the Kingdom conception of life to lower the size and scope of government at all levels.

Tolstoy found in his research that the Sermon on the Mount is a presentation of a new society, not just a  suggested way for people to behave here and there until Christ comes in his "Second Coming."  In fact, for Christians, the Second Coming is to take place within the context of Christ's followers doing the things listed in the Sermon on the Mount.  So if you want Jesus to return, Christians, you better get busy with "swear not"/ do not take oaths (ends the state and all its systems of violence) and the rest of the instructions in this most famous sermon.

But along the way, there is a benefit to all the rest of us, who are of other faiths (I am Gandhian, for example).  When we run candidates for elected office, who will refuse to take the oath of office when elected ("swear not"), we rattle the elected government into changing their focus away from raising taxes in the name of religious benevolence to cutting these types of programs in favor of private sector involvement.

And as more and more candidates are elected and "swear not," we get closer to a zero tax world, a zero state violence world and a more people-centric life.
