Pete Hendrickson, Irwin Schiff and Others

I have been surprised over the past few months to see how the Internet climate has changed in favor of the world view that I, and others, espoused more than a decade ago.  In 1999, when Irwin Schiff got me turned on to his ideas of circumventing the U. S. Tax Code, you were an outcast unworthy of second consideration to even think in those terms.

Today, the whole Tax Honesty Movement is believed to be heros by the Internet World.  Aaron Russo's movie, America:  Freedom to Fascism, was not respected by the movie theater chains, but the Internet redefined the world of tax policy when it saw the show.  I was glad to be there with the Fred Smart's, Doug Kenline's, Bob Schulz's, Thurston Bell's and the like, pushing the agenda that Aaron got into his movie.

There were those who did not make it into the film and did not get honorable mention on some web page.  The Pete Hendrickson's and such, who paid the price in jail.  They all helped to make the world listen to our calls for Truth, 'that every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill be made low.'  They were all Mahatma Gandhi's in my book, circumventing the evil violence of the state with Truth and non-violence.

I remember how Dr. Mel, who had been with Dr. King in the Birmingham Jail when the famous letter was written, told us how he agreed that our work was a continuation of the Civil Rights Movement, as he finished Aaron's movie.  I see how Gary Franchi has taken the reigns of Aaron's mission into the next generation at rtr.org.  I look at the amazing endorsement of Dr. Chomsky.

Wherever we end up in this campaign, I have marched with honorable men and women, and we have changed the world.
